Mansion still no good for Manchin

I wrote last year in “Mansion no good for Manchin” about the money the Governor was going to spend on the Governor’s residence. Then they were proposing to only spend a few hundred thousand dollars, most of which was to come from the inaugural fund and not from taxpayers. That was then and this is now. It seems now they are going to spend well in excess of $3 million taxpayer dollars above that amount for such things as marble bath tubs and vast entertainment systems.

Some amount of upgrade and modernization is probably worthy, but at a time when taxes are being raised on some and deficits are being paid by bond issues that require additional money from taxpayers to pay them, $3 million dollars seem a bit much.

Apparently, the Mansion is still not good enough for Manchin.
